New Lynn
New Lynn is located west of Auckland's urban area, and 10 kilometres southwest of the city centre. It is surrounded by neighbouring suburbs Blockhouse Bay, Avondale, Green Bay and Titirangi. It was seen as the original threshold to West Auckland, being extremely accessible to the beautiful rainforest, beaches and native walking tracks.
New Lynn has a good selection of bungalows, brick and tile housing, and apartments near the town centre. The town centre provides excellent shopping with Lynn Mall, a new Reading cinema complex and the modern Brickworks lane-way has many restaurants to choose from. The New Lynn transport hub offers regular train and bus services allowing easy access to Auckland City. The New Lynn community is diverse, and attracts many first time buyers and young families. It has good schools, as well as parks and reserves for recreational activities.
